FROZEN SHOULDER

WHAT ?

Adhesive capsulitis (AC), often referred to as Frozen Shoulder, is characterized by painful and progressively restricted active and passive range of motion of shoulder joint.

HOW ?

Frozen shoulder typically begins gradually, worsen over time.

It initially starts with pain in any shoulder movement and shoulder’s range of motion starts to become limited. In the next stage pain may begin to diminish however shoulder becomes stiffer.

WHO ARE AT RISK ?

  • Prolonged immobilisation of shoulder joint due to fracture,injury etc
  • Certain diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, hyperthyroidism, parkinson’s etc
  • After the age of 50 years and particularly women.
